Landline Connections

Landline reconnections

If you are looking to reconnect your phone line, there are two main options available to you: BT (www.bt.com) for a conventional phone line, or Virgin Media (www.virginmedia.com) for a cable line.

BT Landline Package

  • BT offer a broad selection of calling plans, including Unlimited Anytime and Unlimited Evenings & Weekend packages.
  • Choosing BT often is an easier option, as other home phone providers are able to connect you to BT on your behalf.

Virgin Media Packages

  • Perfect if you only want broadband or TV and have no need for a landline
  • Virgin Media is the cheaper option if you are happy to use a mobile to make calls
  • Visit www.virginmedia.com to check Virgin Media availability in your area

HI, we really need a land line phone and broadband package. We are looking at either Talk Talk Essentials or Orange Max for this. However, they both state BT landline required. The previous owners of our house had a BT landline and internet package. How can we go about reconnecting our lines and what will this cost us?
Many thanks

You promise a postcode finder for landline providers but it is only on page for best home phone deals. I want to know who can reconnect the landline without paying BT ridiculous money. there has obviously been a line before. - May 17 2010 7:19PM
Hi
Not sure if you can help, but I have just been badly let down by BT. My elderly mother (90) has been a loyal customer for very many years. She recently moved home (temporarily living with me between moves). In the intervening eight weeks I have been in touch with BT 4 times to make arrangements for the phone in her new home to be set up ready for her to move in. The last call was a week ago when I was re-assured that that would be set up. Today I call to check everything is OK (she is moving to her new home today Thur 8th April) only to be told by BT that the line has been de-activitaed and they cannot re-connect her until April 28th. I am told they have no way of making an urgent re-connection. My mother cannot be without a phone until the end of April. Do you have any suggestions as to what I could do, urgently. Many thanks, Jane Walker
