110 million minutes of calls on a Monday evening.
TalkTalk customers are most likely to make home phone calls on a Monday evening, according to statistics published by the provider.
Clive Dorsman, managing director of TalkTalk Technology, said on the company’s blog that TalkTalk believes this is “down to people tending not to go out on a Monday night”.
While TalkTalk may see around 110 million minutes of calls made via its landline network on a Monday evening, this can drop to 70 million on a Sunday.
In total the broadband and telephone provider sees close to three billion minutes of calls being made each month by its home phone customers, with 2.9 billion minutes racked up in June this year.
TalkTalk reported in July that it had lost 27,000 broadband bundle customers, and home phone only packages had also continued to decline “in-line with annual trends over the last few years”.
However, the provider said that the growth in broadband revenue it had seen over those three months was “more than offset” by a £20 million decline in home phone and other non-broadband revenue.
According to a report published by telecoms regulator Ofcom earlier this month, 85% of adults in the UK have a fixed landline at home.
