Thinking about switching your home phone to one of Primus’ landline deals? Here’s an overview of all the packages on offer from Primus, so you can be sure you’re getting the cheapest deal.
Primus is an independent home phone provider that has been part of the global landline market since 1996. Although a relatively new name in the UK, Primus has invested heavily in state-of-the-art technology at its London Docklands headquarters, allowing it to offer customers a discounted phone service through BT Openreach.
There are currently five different packages available from Primus - but which is the best landline deal for you? We take a look at the various options to help you decide…
The best-known tariff from Primus is its Home Phone Saver deal. This is currently the cheapest standalone line rental and calls package available in the UK, and costs just £7.99 a month for line rental with evening and weekend calls.
This is a saving of over £5.50 a month compared to BT’s line rental. The deal is exclusive to Homephonechoices.co.uk and you can sign-up online or by calling 0800 036 0170.
This line rental plan requires you to pay by monthly direct debit and agree to receive your bills electronically by email. If you’d prefer to receive a paper bill in the post, you will be charged an extra £1.80 a month.
Please take a look at the table below for information on Primus’ daytime, mobile and international calling rates:
Please note that £7.99 is the reduced price for the Home Phone Saver tariff, and the previous price was £8.99. The reduced price is only available to new customers, so households that previously signed up to the tariff will continue to pay the price that was advertised when they signed up.
Alternatively, if you are looking to save money on your bills but need an anytime calls package, allowing you to make calls to UK landlines anytime of the day or night, you can sign-up to the Primus Home Phone Max package.
This costs £10 a month for line rental and an extra £2.79 a month for the call plan. If you make the majority of your calls during the day though, this could save you nearly £6 a month compared to the same deal from BT.
Again, you will have to pay by monthly direct debit and take online paperless billing. However if you’d like an itemised paper bill in the post, you can get this for an extra £1.80 a month. The deal is exclusive to Homephonechoices.co.uk and you can sign-up online or by calling 0800 036 0170. Look at the table below for more details:
The latest addition to Primus’ remit of home phone tariffs, the new Line Rental Saver option is a line rental-only deal which costs just £6.29 a month - 50% less than BT line rental.
Available exclusively available through Homephonechoices.co.uk, the Line Rental Saver deal is perfect for anyone wanting to save money on their phone bills by getting a line rental-only landline deal. These kinds of tariff are great if you just need your phone line for your broadband connection, and you don’t plan on making many calls.
You can sign-up online or by calling 0800 036 0170. It’s important to note that while the tariff doesn’t include any free calls, call rates are competitive. The table below has more detailed information:
If you want to do your bit for the environment, then where better place to start than by signing up to an eco-friendly home phone tariff? The Primus Eco Saver deal includes line rental and unlimited evening and weekend calls, all for £9.69.
So what makes the deal a “green” home phone tariff? Well, as part of the Eco Saver tariff, Primus will make a donation to The Tree Council for every new customer that joins. In order to take advantage of the discounted rate however, you must pay by monthly direct debit and receive your bills online via paperless e-billing.
And unlike other Primus deals, the contract is for 18 months - however you’ll receive a £40 credit at the end of your contract if you choose to stay with Primus for a further 18 months. This deal is exclusive to Homephonechoices.co.uk and you can sign-up online or by calling 0800 036 0170. For more information, take a look at the table below:
If you’re looking for the cheapest all-in-one phone and broadband package, consider switching both your services to the Primus Phone & Broadband Saver bundle.
With this deal you’ll get line rental and free evening and weekend calls for £11 a month, and broadband with speeds of up to 24Mb and a 10GB download limit, for an additional £4.99 a month. This is a very competitive deal, and saves you between £5-10 a month compared to similar packages from rivals BT and TalkTalk.
However, the 10GB download allowance is only really suitable for light users and small households that don’t spend a lot of time online.
Primus’ broadband service comes with an 18-month contract, and you must agree to pay your bills by monthly direct debit and sign-up for online paperless billing. If you’d like to receive a paper copy of your bill, there will be an extra charge of £1.80 a month.
