Want to save money on your home phone and broadband bills? Sign-up for a landline bundle with BE broadband and get line rental cheaper than BT, guaranteed.
BE broadband (www.bethere.co.uk) offers two competitively priced call plans as well as a basic line rental-only deal, making it an ideal choice for anyone who only needs their landline for their broadband connection.
The home phone aspect of BE’s service was only launched in September 2010, however BE has been offering broadband deals since August 2005. The company is now owned by telecommunications giant O2, and followed its parent’s lead by entering the home phone market with a range of bundled packages.
With line rental costing just £9.71 a month, switching to BE broadband could save you as much as £45 a year. Find out more below…
BE offers three home phone deals, two which include both line rental and calls, and one that is line rental-only. These packages are only available to people who also subscribe to BE’s broadband service.
You can choose from:
Whichever landline deal you choose, you will receive one monthly bill from BE broadband. This is an online, paperless bill - BE doesn’t offer the option of paper bills, but insists that customers will be able to access their latest bill at any time via the BE user portal.
When switching to BE, the company will deal with all aspects of your service, including any faults on the line, and packages come with either a three-month or 12-month minimum contract.
BE’s remit is “why pay more than you have to” - its line rental is one of the cheapest on the market and its broadband service is increasingly popular.
BE says: “If you want broadband, you’re going to need a landline so why not get it from us? Instead of paying BT, you can pay BE a little less.”
The landline deal you choose will depend on the numbers you call, the amount of calls you make and when you make most of your calls.
The basic landline option is perfect for someone looking for a line rental-only deal to support their broadband connection, and people who make their calls using an internet phone service (VoIP) like Vonage.
And the Evening & Weekend deal is best for people who make the majority of their calls during the evening and at weekends.
If you make a lot of calls during the day, consider the Anytime package, which offers free calls to 22 international destinations too. Free calls to 0845 and 0870 numbers are also included in the Anytime package, saving you even more money.
There are several other reasons why switching to BE may be the best landline option for you, such as:
BE broadband currently offers three broadband packages: BE Value which costs £14.08 a month, BE Unlimited at £18.26 a month, and the BE Pro deal costing £22.44 a month and offering generous broadband speeds.
Switching your broadband, line rental and calls to BE is easy. If you already have an active BT phone line, there will be no interruption to your service, and you will keep your existing phone number.
BE broadband says it will take approximately 10 days to transfer your service from your current supplier, “however, there will be little to no down-time during the switch”. If there is a working line in your home with no existing service provider, for example if you have just moved into a new house, then BE can take over the line within three days.
The extra calling features you already have, such as caller ID, will stay the same, and you’ll still be able to access the operator and emergency services numbers.
The switch will be carried out at your local telephone exchange, so an engineer won’t need to visit your house, and BE will tell your existing home phone provider that it will be billing you for your line rental, line services and calls in future - you don’t have to do a thing.
If you need a new phone line installed or an old line reactivated, or if you are currently a cable customer with Virgin Media, you can arrange this with BE.
