Business Calling Plans

BT Business and Primus Business both offer capped packages with inclusive calls at £14.45 and £9.49 a month respectively. Providing capped calling rates from as little as 8.80p up to an hour with Primus Business, and 500 free minutes to UK landlines with BT Business. If a significant amount of calls are made to international destinations or mobile networks it is important to ask about the specific call costs.

Phone line installation

If you require a phone line to be installed at your premises or simply re-connected most providers will charge a fee for this service.

Installation typically will take between 5 and 10 days depending on engineer availability and your chosen provider, however all providers allow you to select a convenient appointment on a suitable date when you place your order.

If you’re after a cheaper alternative, the best business phone line option is not to have a phone line at all! Using a broadband connection and a service like Vonage, you can make cheap – or even free – calls over the internet. (see VoIP business calls, section below for more information)

Switching phone providers

As mentioned almost all business phone providers will charge a fee to set up your new office connection. However if you are simply switching phone providers there will be a lesser take-over charge for this service. This ranges from £19.99 with BT Business, or can be free with providers such as Primus Business.

Line rental add-ons

For add-ons such as call diversion, call waiting and three-way calling you will need a Featureline, alternatively you should speak to about upgrading your existing package to include such features and if they are available. If you already have a Featureline you can simply switch your calls to another provider and pay your line rental to your existing provider, therefore taking advantage of discounted call costs.

If you use of a PBX system or use a switchboard for your business then you can transfer your calls and line rental to a different provider. However any maintenance of the

equipment will remain with your provider.

VoIP business calls
