Homephonechoices.co.uk has teamed up with Primus to offer an exclusive line rental deal - get line rental and free evening and weekend calls for just £7.99 a month with the Home Phone Saver package.
The reduced £7.99 Home Phone Saver tariff is only available to new customers. Households that previously signed up to the tariff will continue to pay the price when they signed up.
Alternatively, if you are looking to save money on your bills but need an "Anytime Calls Package" allowing you to make calls to UK landlines anytime of the day (rather than just in the evening and at weekends), we have a second exclusive offer, sign-up to Primus Home Phone Max package see details below:
Primus is in the top 10 of global phone providers and entered the UK market in 1996. Although a relatively new name in the UK, it has invested heavily in state-of-the-art equipment at its London Docklands headquarters.
Primus is one alternative if you are looking for a cheap line rental plus calls package. Primus’ line rental is currently the cheapest in the UK. However, in order to take advantage of the low rate you must be prepared to pay by monthly direct debit and accept paperless billing.
You will no longer pay BT (www.bt.com) for your home phone line rental. Primus also offers free basic voicemail, 1471 call return and withheld number services.
Once you have switched to Primus, the company will handle any problems with your line going forward.
Outside of its packages, Primus also offers low rates for national UK calls and international call rates starting at just 4p per minute, depending on the country called. As there are some big differences in the amounts charged for calling various countries, check the country you call frequently to see if the price is competitive before signing up.
Primus line rental and home phone packages are suitable for anyone with an existing copper wire phone line i.e. BT line. You need to make sure you are not locked into a contract with your current home phone provider, however.
If you choose Primus, you can usually keep you current telephone number and there won’t be a break in your service. An engineer won’t even need to visit your house to complete your switchover, which will take between 10 and 14 days.
If you are moving house, or there is currently no home phone line installed in your property, Primus can install a new landline. The work will be carried out by BT Openreach on Primus’ behalf and you will be charged £59 by Primus. It shouldn’t take longer than five days to get connected. Simply ring Primus on 0800 036 0170 (www.primusconnect.co.uk) to arrange an installation date.
Before placing your order to switch to Primus, you should check with your current phone supplier that you are not locked into a contract. You should also check with your broadband provider to ensure that switching your phone service will not affect your broadband.
Primus has just launched a new Line Rental Saver option, which is a line rental-only deal costing just £6.29 a month - 50% less than BT line rental.
Available exclusively available through Homephonechoices.co.uk, the Line Rental Saver deal is perfect for anyone wanting to save money on their phone bills by getting a line rental-only landline deal. These kinds of tariff are great if you just need your phone line for your broadband connection, and you don’t plan on making many calls.
You can sign-up online or by calling 0800 036 0170. It’s important to note that while the tariff doesn’t include any free calls, call rates are competitive. The table below has more detailed information:
Bear in mind that the prices in the table above are on the basis that you pay by monthly direct debit, otherwise there may be an additional charge.
Primus offers customers itemised paperless billing - you won’t get a paper bill in the post. If you want a paper bill that will cost an additional £1.80 a month. Primus line rental plans have a 12-month contract length.
