Primus offers home phone discounts - with line rental from as little as £6.49 a month.
Primus has announced an updated version of its cheapest home phone deal, giving new customers even cheaper line rental than before.
From today, line rental on the Primus Line Rental Saver package will cost just £6.49 a month, down from £6.79 previously.
This follows a series of price hikes from other home phone providers, including BT, TalkTalk, Virgin Media and Sky, which have all increased their line rental in recent months.
Line rental from BT now costs £13.90 a month, the same as with Virgin Media, while TalkTalk charges slightly less at £13.80 and Sky’s monthly fee is £12.25.
The new line rental package will also offers customers evening and weekend calls to UK landlines for just 2p a minute, and phoning 0845 and 0870 numbers will cost just 6p a minute at any time of day.
Meanwhile, calls to mobiles cost no more than 16p a minute, compared with charges of up to 31p a minute on a similar Virgin Media package.
Operating on a 12-month contract, Primus Saver’s Line Rental Saver deal also provides a free voicemail answering service and a Choose to Refuse facility - to stop unwanted or nuisance calls - can be added for £2.50 a month extra.
