BT offers free anytime calls for three months

New customers signing up to BT’s Unlimited Anytime home phone tariff will get free local and national calls for three months.

BT (www.bt.com), the UK’s biggest home phone provider, is offering three months free anytime calls, to households that sign-up for a 12-month Unlimited Anytime Calls contract, before 28 February 2010.

The tariff, which usually costs £4.99 a month, will save customers £14.97 over the three months. To be eligible for the calling plan though, customers must take BT line rental, which costs £11.54 a month.

The tariff also includes free calls to 0845 and 0870 phone numbers.

Simon Piper, product director at Homephonechoices.co.uk, said: “If you make a lot of calls during the day, and are currently on an evening and weekend calls tariff, switching to an anytime calling plan could help reduce your phone bills. Work out whether the cost of the tariff will justify you switching before you do though, otherwise you could end up paying for a service you don’t really need.”

BT’s deal, though, isn’t as cheap as Primus Saver’s anytime calls package though, which is the cheapest deal in the UK at the moment. The Home Phone Max tariff costs £2.89 a month for unlimited daytime, evening and weekend calls to all local and national landline numbers, and line rental is £10.99 a month.
