Auracall offers value for money and extremely competitive international call and mobile rates. Find out if switching to Auracall could save you money...

Auracall (www.auracall.com) offers competitively priced call plans and super cheap international call rates, making it an ideal choice for anyone who frequently phones friends and family overseas. It is, though, one of the UK’s lesser-known home phone provider.

Auracall was established in 2001 and offers a variety of home phone services for home and business customers. It has over 200,000 customers in the UK and the company has a dedicated and multilingual customer services team in the UK.

Auracall offers international call rates from as low as 0.5p a minute, as well as competitive rates to mobiles, so it’s worth comparing prices to see if you could save money on your home phone bills by switching to Auracall. Find out more below…

What does Auracall offer?

Auracall offers two home phone packages which include both line rental and calls. You can choose from:

  • Evening and Weekend - Get free inclusive evening and weekend calls to UK landline numbers starting 01, 02, 03, 0845 and 0870 for £1.90 a month, plus line rental at £10.99 a month
  • Saver Anytime - Homephonechoices.co.uk exclusive - Get free inclusive anytime calls to UK landlines numbers starting 01, 02, 03, 0845 and 0870 for £3.80 a month, plus line rental at £10.99 a month.

With either of these home phone deals, you will receive one monthly bill from Auracall which you can opt to receive online or by post - if you choose to receive your bill in the post, it will cost you £2 extra each month. You must pay by monthly direct debit.

Auracall will deal with all aspects of your service, including any faults on the line, and all packages come with a minimum 12-month contract.

Why should I switch to Auracall?

Though its call plans and line rental are not as cheap as others on the market, for example Primus and YourCalls.net, Auracall offers the perfect home phone tariff for anyone who makes a lot of calls to international destinations.

Auracall’s remit is “to provide simple to use and reliable, low-cost telephony services”.

Customers can make calls to the US for just 0.5p per minute (or free on the Anytime tariff), meaning a 10-minute call during the day will cost just 14.5p (including the 9.5p call connection fee) - a saving of over £1.60 compared to BT’s rates.

There are several other reasons why switching to Auracall may be the best landline option for you, including:

  • Auracall’s call connection fee is just 9.5p per call - a saving of 2p compared to BT
  • Low cost rates for calls to UK mobiles - call a mobile for as little as 6p per minute
  • Customers will get free inclusive calls to 0845 and 0870 numbers, in line with their call plan
  • Customer services are based in North London
  • Free evening call times are from 6pm until 8am (BT’s are from 7pm until 7am).

Customers who take the Anytime package will also get unlimited calls to 39 international destinations, including landlines in the US, Canada and Ireland, as well as mobiles in the US and Canada.

Customers that register their account online can also sign-up for Option 1 or Option 2 add-ons. These let you make cheap calls from your mobile and other phones using a prefix system - visit www.auracall.com for more information.

How do I switch to Auracall?

Switching your line rental and calls to Auracall is easy, and can be done in minutes online. If you already have an active BT phone line, there will be no interruption to your service, and you will keep your current phone number. The extra calling features you already have, such as caller ID, will stay the same, and you’ll still be able to access the operator and emergency services numbers.

The switch will be carried out at your local telephone exchange, so an engineer won’t need to visit your house, and Auracall will tell your existing home phone provider that it will be billing you for your line rental, line services and calls in future - you don’t have to do a thing.

If you need a new phone line installed or an old line reactivated, or if you are currently a cable customer (ie Virgin Media), you will have to contact BT on 0800 028 4474 to arrange a BT line installation. Auracall does not accept switches from customers who have their line rental from either TalkTalk, Tiscali, Sky or Virgin Media.
