Primus offers £99-a-year line rental

Savvy home phone customers can save nearly £55 a year on their landline bills by switching to the new Primus Saver Plus deal.

Primus (www.primussaver.co.uk), already the UK’s cheapest home phone provider, is helping customers save even more money on their monthly landline bills by letting them pay for 12 months of line rental upfront at a reduced rate.

The new Primus Saver Plus deal is available through Homephonechoices.co.uk, and costs just £99 for a year’s line rental and free weekend calls.

The latest offer from Primus reduces customers line rental to just £8.25 a month, and rivals BT’s similar Line Rental Saver tariff that costs £113.88 for a year in advance.

Line Rental Saver sees customers pay £113.88 a year in advance for their line rental, which is nearly £15 more than the Primus Saver Plus tariff. Customers who sign-up to Primus’ deal also get the added bonus of unlimited weekend calls.

Simon Piper, business development manager at Homephonechoices.co.uk, said: “If you’re willing to pay for your line rental in advance, the new deal from Primus will certainly help you cut the cost of your landline.”

The new tariff is only available to customers with an existing BT phone line who agree to pay upfront for their line rental and by monthly direct debit for their chargeable calls.

Piper added: “If you don’t like the idea of paying for your line rental all in one lump sum, or would prefer to pay for it monthly, you should consider Primus’ other cheap deal - the Primus Home Phone Saver package. This costs just £8.99 a month for line rental and free evening and weekend calls.”
