Who offers the cheapest landline deals?

Did you know that BT (www.bt.com) is actually one of the UK’s most expensive home phone providers? There are a whole host of other providers that offer discounted and cheap line rental and calls packages, so if you’ve never switched provider, you could save loads on your monthly bills.

Primus (www.primus.co.uk), for example, currently offers Britain’s cheapest home phone package, at just £7.99 a month for line rental and free evening and weekend calls. The Home Phone Saver package from Primus is available online through Homephonechoices.co.uk.

Get cheap line rental

Cutting the cost of your line rental will reduce your monthly landline bills. As well as comparing prices and switching to a better deal, there are several things you can do to help save you even more money:

1. Paper-free billing - Sign-up for online paperless billing. Most providers offer a discount to customers who receive their bills via email rather than in the post.
2. Direct debit - Paying by monthly direct debit is the cheapest way to pay your landline bills. Most providers charge customers to pay by any other method.
3. Calling features - If you want extra calling features, such as caller display or three-way calling, speak to your provider to see if these can be included in your monthly line rental cost.
4. Free calls - Most providers offer free weekend landline calls with their line rental, but if you make calls during the evening too, look for a deal that includes these.
