Broadband and mobile phone giant O2 is launching two home phone tariffs in March, which promise big savings on home phone and broadband bundles.
O2 will launch a home phone service in March, which will feature attractively-priced home phone and broadband bundles.
O2 already offers mobile phone, mobile broadband and home broadband services.
Monthly home phone line rental with O2 will start from £9.50 with the Evening & Weekend plan, which will include free evening and weekend calls. This is a saving of over £2 when compared to line rental with BT.
Sally Cowdry, UK marketing director at O2, said: “We know how many of our customers value the convenience of paying for their home phone and broadband together with no hidden extra costs.
“We will be bringing the same commitment to quality of service with our home phone service as we have successfully established with broadband.”
O2 will also offer an Anytime plan for £12.50 a month. This offers customers unlimited free calls at any time of the day, to UK local and national numbers, 0845 and 0870 numbers, and international landlines in over 20 countries, including Australia, Canada and the US.
Both call plans will include a wide range of extra calling features, such as ‘Hide My Number’, ‘Last Caller ID’ and ‘Last Number Delete’ for free, as well as services like ‘Call Waiting’, ‘Caller Display’ and ‘Call Barring’ for an additional monthly fee.
The two home phone packages will be exclusively available to O2 broadband customers; however households stand to save the most on their monthly bills if they are also an O2 mobile phone customer. These customers can get their broadband, their line rental and the Evening & Weekend call plan for £17 a month.
Examples of package costs are:Simon Piper, business development manager at Homephonechoices.co.uk, said: “Customers already with O2 stand to make huge savings by switching their phone service and bundling both their broadband and phone.”
