TalkTalk home phone was launched by mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse in 2003. In April 2006, the company introduced free broadband, but the launch was beset by well-publicised problems with its customer services. The company has since invested heavily in customer satisfaction, with good results.
TalkTalk home phone won two uSwitch.com best value awards in 2008 – No.1 for best value for money, and no.1 best value for money bundle. The company has also expanded into several European countries and was the first company to offer free international calls between its own customers in different countries.
In April 2009, Carphone Warehouse said it would split its mobile phone operation from the TalkTalk home phone and broadband business.

Switching you home line rental to TalkTalk will take no longer than 13 days and there shouldn’t be a break in your service. TalkTalk will even liaise with your current supplier to cancel your existing contract.
If you need a brand new phone line or a second line installed TalkTalk will do that as long as you are going to take both home phone and broadband services from the company. TalkTalk is currently running a limited availability offer to install a new or second line for just £59.99.
