Which TalkTalk landline?

TalkTalk now offers two calling plans, one with free evening and weekend calls and another with free anytime calls to UK landlines.

You can choose between keeping your BT phone line (if you have one) or switching your landline and calls over to TalkTalk. A minimum 12-month contract applies for all TalkTalk’s call packages and line rental.

Talk UK Evening and Weekend includes:

  • Free calls to UK landlines evenings and weekends
  • Free local daytime calls (from 1 May 2009)
  • Free anytime calls to other UK TalkTalk customers
  • Free calls to TalkTalk customers in 36 countries
  • Daytime calls to UK landlines cost 4.5p (the same as BT)

Talk UK Anytime includes:

  • Free anytime calls to national numbers
  • Free local daytime calls (from 1 May 2009)
  • Free calls to TalkTalk customers in 36 countries

If you want a phone and broadand bundle, you should consider MyTalkTalk which comes with 8 Mb broadband and a large 40 GB monthly download allowance.

Why get a TalkTalk landline?

Until recently TalkTalk promised it would always offer cheaper landline costs than BT (www.bt.com). However, on TalkTalk increased its line rental from £11.25 to £11.49 for customers paying by direct debit with paperless billing. Add £1.25 a month for paper billing.

TalkTalk nonetheless provides a highly competitive home phone service. Inclusive features are:

  • Free anytime calls to other TalkTalk users in the UK
  • Free local calls in the daytime (from 1 May 2009)
  • Calling circle - additional discounted calls to 16 named telephone numbers including international and mobiles
  • Free voicemail
  • Nectar points earned on every TalkTalk bill (2 points per £1 spent)
  • Free TalkTalk customer service and technical support calls from your TalkTalk landline

I registered with you a while ago and recently joined your broadband service but am being charged more than £6.50 for it. When I asked why I was being charged a higher fee I was given some story about not being able to. - Jan 22 2010 8:13PM
I note in the article above that Nectar points are earned on a Talk Talk bill. When I enquired about this I was told that that was no longer available ?????????????? - Jan 14 2010 7:46PM

I would like to change over to Talk Talk for my tel calls but not sure about changing my line rental to them from BT, I think Talk Talk would charge me £85 call out + £55 an hour to fix any problem with the phone if I had a problem, Can you please tell me if this is correct? why should I pay again if there is a problem when I already pay £11.25 a month for the line? Please help as this is stopping me change from BT which I would like to do as they are more expensive for ther International calls. Kind regards Geraldine - Aug 21 2009 11:00AM

Good Afternoon,
Could you please answer a query I have regarding my talk evening & weekend package I have with you. Looking at your package deals I understand that with the above package it also includes free local daytime calls . Could you confirm if this applies to my account, as from my last bill it does not seem to, as B.T keep ringing me up offering me deals. could you please answer my query by e-mail, and can I take this opportunity to thank you for your service to me. I look forward to your reply. thank you
