24Talk, formerly One Bill Telecom, offers two different home phone packages that combine line rental and a call plan. Read on to see if you could save money by switching your home phone to 24Talk… (Updated 8/2/10)

24Talk is part of the Comms Factory Ltd group, which also includes YourCalls.net (www.yourcalls.net). The company was awarded the title of “Fixed Service Provider of the Year 2007,” by the Federation of Communication Services, in recognition of its innovation and UK based customer service department.

It offers two landline packages that may help you reduce your home phone bills.

What is 24Talk home phone?

24Talk currently offers two home phone deals. These packages include line rental and calls, as well as free calls to other 24Talk customers.

Below is a breakdown of the current deals available from 24Talk:

24Talk Evenings & Weekends - A home phone tariff that offers:

24Talk Anytime - A home phone tariff that offers:

With either of these home phone packages, you will receive one monthly bill from 24Talk, and the company will deal with all aspects of your service, including any faults on your phone line.

Why should I get 24Talk home phone?

24Talks’s home phone packages come with a range of features, including free evening and weekend calls, and unlimited anytime calls to all other 24Talk customers. The company also offers competitive call rates to both UK mobiles and international destinations with its Mobile Saver and International Saver add-ons.

  • Mobile Saver - Save 25% on all calls to UK mobiles. This service costs an extra £1.45 a month for Evening & Weekend customers, or is free for Anytime customers.
  • International Saver - Save 50% on all calls to 24Talk’s top 50 international destinations. This includes Australia, Bulgaria, China, Italy, Netherlands and USA. This service costs an extra £1.05 a month for all customers.

When you sign-up to 24Talk, you’ll have exactly the same access to the operator and emergency numbers, however if you would like additional call features such as call barring and anonymous caller ID, you will have to select these online from your call plan. There may be a charge for these features - check with 24Talk before signing up.

The only method of payment for 24Talk’s home phone service is by monthly direct debit. Customers cannot pay by cash, cheque or credit/debit card.

What do I need for 24Talk home phone?

Switching your home phone service to 24Talk is really simple, and can be done either online or over the phone. If you already have an active BT phone line, there will be no interruption to your service, and you will be able to keep the same phone number.

The switch will be carried out at your local telephone exchange, so an engineer won’t need to visit your house, and 24Talk will inform your existing home phone provider that it will be billing you for your line rental and calls in the future.

If you don’t currently have a phone line, or if you are currently a cable customer (i.e. Virgin Media), you can have a new line installed by 24Talk for £124.99.

I am absolutely sick and tired of the rudeness shown by your company and others working out of call centres in India.
When it is pointed out politely that I am with the telephone preference service and do not want unsolicited calls and that I am also on contract with my current supplier...................... The arrogant, rude callers just put the phone down without any apology for their intrusion.
Your reputation as a company has gone totally out of the window as far as I am concerned, and therefore probably others also.

I am very concerned that someone from Talk 24 has phoned my sister (where did he obtain her number?) and has sold her a telephone package to replace her BT service. My sister is (arguably) unfit to contract, and I have registered Power of Attorney over her affairs. Whoever has phoned her and extracted her bank account details from her, to set up a Direct Debit on her account has also recorded that she wants her telephone number to be included in a directory. This means that endless numbers of firms, legitimate or otherwise will find it easy to phone her and to make her sign up to deals / scams which she doesn't understand. Is this legal??? I can't find a number for Customer Services for Talk 24, as contact details seem to vanish into a confusing list of other suppliers. What a fantastic service! - Jun 13 2010 7:01PM
