The Post Office now offer a home phone service. If you are BT customer you can switch to using the Post Office phone service and you will also receive discounts on other Post Office products.
One Simple Calling plan is on offer from the Post Office Phone Service where call rates in the day time are 20% cheaper than BT Together Option1, with no minimum call charge. The Post Office phone service offers line rental that is cheaper than BT at only £9.95 a month.
HomePhone from the Post Office is available to anyone with a standard BT residential line, hence the following customers can’t receive the service: Cable, Kingston Communications and BT Light User scheme customers.
Post Office Home Phone and “Loved Ones”
The Post Office Home Phone service gives free calls to “Loved Ones” on their birthday and Christmas Day. For your “Loved Ones” you will receive an extra 10% off these numbers that you register on your Post Office home phone account.
How the Post Office Phone Service Works
Carrier Pre Selection is used by the Post Office's Phone service so you are automatically routed over their network. (No need to dial a pre fix or plug in a routing box.) You will keep your existing BT phone number.
Line Rental from the Post Office
You have the option to take your line rental from the Post Office Phone service. It’s cheaper than BT so you will save money on this. Another good feature about the Post Office Home Phone service is there is no minimum period of commitment.
Apply Online
You can apply online for a Post Office Phone account they will send you an acknowledgement letter immediately you have signed up.
You'll then receive a Post Office Phone Welcome Pack confirming your transfer date, which will be around two weeks later.
