Save Money on Landline Line Rental Charges

What are your Line Rental options?

It's something that the average consumer probably hasn't noticed and doesn't much care about, but the UK telecoms market recently saw its biggest shake-up of the last few years.

Home phone suppliers are now able to buy line rental (on a wholesale basis) from BT and charge their customers for it. In practical terms, this means that you don't have to pay BT separately for line rental any more - many companies will stick it on the same bill when they charge you for your calls.

Surprisingly, only four alternative home phone providers have taken full advantage of their new opportunity to offer discounts on line rental. These providers are Toucan, Homecall, and the Post Office.

What line rental savings are on offer?

SupplierPackage NameMonthly Package CostLine Rental Info
Option 1Freeper month for Direct Save line rental. You will no longer pay line rental to your current phone provider.
Talk UK Weekend - Call 0800 049 7843Freeper month for TalkTalk line rental. You will no longer pay line rental to your current home phone provider.

Switch to cheaper calls and save your line rental costs

BT offers line rental at £11.00 a month if you pay by monthly Direct Debit; TalkTalk line rental is now the £10.50.

If you want cheaper calls and you're thinking of switching to an alternative phone provider, you might as well switch line rental and save some more money. No company offers more expensive line rental than BT, so you've got nothing to lose.
