Internet phone provider Vonage has introduced a competitive new package offering customers unlimited calls to Indian landlines and mobiles.

Vonage (www.vonage.co.uk), an internet phone provider that lets customers make calls via their broadband connection, has launched a tariff offering unlimited calls to India for £18.99 a month.

As well as unlimited calls to Indian landlines and mobiles at anytime of the day, the new Vonage V-Plan 4i also offers unlimited anytime calls to landlines in 35 other countries, including the UK, the US, Canada, Australia and Poland.

Customers can also make unlimited calls to mobiles in five countries: India, US, Canada, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Simon Piper, business development manager at Homephonechoices.co.uk, said of VoIP: “Calling people over the internet is a great way to save money on your home phone bills, especially if you make a lot of calls to friends and family overseas.”

If you want to sign-up to Vonage you will need a broadband connection, and a special Vonage adapter - these can cost up to £29.99. Activation costs £9.99, and as soon as you have your Vonage adapter you can plug it into your broadband router and start making calls straight away, using an ordinary touch-tone phone.

Piper added: “Unlike other VoIP services like Skype, Vonage can be used as a reliable second phone line and its calling plans come with 20 inclusive call features - you can even get your voice messages emailed to you.”
